The competitive advantage comes when we get people into a role and we help them to know how to do that role well. When people know they are doing their job well, they know they are making contributions. This is satisfaction. When they know they are contributing and they know they are doing well, that will lead them into other opportunities. It is so critical that we set up employees so that they know how to do their job well and that is through training. That is why we emphasize real-life situations where they can practice, contribute and reflect. When they make contributions, they stage themselves for the next tier of career opportunities. To me, when that becomes a competitive advantage is when people can practice and do well by way of using the training we provide them.
