PAREXEL’s LIQUENT Team reflection on DIA’s RSIDM conference

The 2019 DIA Regulatory Submissions, Information, and Document Management (RSIDM) conference outdid itself this year with high attendance and innovative content. Regulatory Information Management is once again shaping up to be the hottest topic in Regulatory Life Sciences.

The RSIDM conference was kicked off with an inspiring keynote speaker, T.J. Sharpe, Patient Advocate, Starfish Harbor LLC.  He shared with the audience his journey through cancer, diagnosed in 2012 with multiple tumors, undergoing 6 surgeries and 4 immunotherapies across 2 Clinical Trials.  T.J. brought a unique perspective to his presentation as he worked in our industry prior to his diagnosis.  He ended the session describing on how important all of our individual roles in Regulatory are to the patients.

T.J. – “You all need to realize that each and every role and task is key to getting lifesaving therapies to patients.”

Topics were diverse and relevant to the challenges faced in Regulatory today.  Everything from Blockchain Technology, to Cloud Capabilities, end-to-end RIM, eCTD, and IDMP were covered.

The sessions with regulators provide a tangible reality to highlight the challenges faced by industry, regulators and software vendors and highlight the importance of the continued working relationships established between these 3 stakeholders. These sessions always pull everyone in and drive fruitful discussions, and was this year enhanced through the use of the conference App to generate and promote questions in real time. This meant that questions were answered based on group popularity, rather than people approaching the microphone – a great format that we hope to see utilized more in the future.

Matt Neal – “The evening event at Del Frisco’s allowed us to get into deep topics with clients but the great engagement at the booth with several clients would probably by my highlight. Our message is starting to take hold in the market.”

Matt Neal, Sr. Director of Product Management and well-respected thought leader gave a captivating presentation of PAREXEL’s LIQUENT InSight integration with Microsoft Office 365 at the lunchtime Vendor Showcase.  PAREXEL and Microsoft together are looking at the human factors of Regulatory processes and designing solutions to help optimize workflows. Through system automation, machine learning, and “smart” templates, we are bringing exciting productivity innovations for the users of PAREXEL’s InSight Regulatory Information Management solution. This first integration with Outlook will begin to transform day to day regulatory processes by creating a more intelligent, intuitive and compliant experience for regulatory users.

We at PAREXEL are very excited about this dramatic and innovative change to the way regulatory users will do their day-to-day tasks and are very much looking forward to the upcoming DIA annual meeting in San Diego when we can show even more innovation and integration with Microsoft in our RIM Tools.

We hope you can join us for a conversation about changing the way you work.
